Floristry Tutorial: Succulent Design in a Classic Low Urn

Channels / Flowers & Floristry Tutorials

I love succulents. I love their forms and colours and best of all, I love that once the design is complete, they just keep on keeping on for months to come. In todays design, I’m using both fresh and artificial. As the fresh start to take over or grow and multiply, the artificial can be removed and as long as the foam is continuously wet, they will continue to grow. When I get tired of the design, I can simply replant them directly into the ground.

Take a low stemmed classic shaped urn and fill with wet foam. Cover foam with a layer of living moss or even baby tears – but these will take over in due course.
