Sometimes a vase isn't just a container — it's a stage. Or a piece of art in its own right.
Last year I created what I called my botanical still life vase, and the response was wonderful. The first design in that series featured mixed foliage with a focal green and white cymbidium orchid — and the white vase with its green decoupage print did so much of the visual heavy lifting before a single stem was placed.
Since then it's appeared in several videos, and after checking my request book I found a number of you asking what other designs could be created to give the vase a completely different feel and look.
Today I'm answering that — with a pot-et-fleur approach using botanical greens and whites. Fresh lilies, white and green hydrangeas, foliage of your choice, and an optional maidenhair fern as a living element to bring the whole thing to life.
Same vase. Entirely new feeling.
You'll need:
- The botanical still life vase (or any white vase with botanical detailing)
- Foliage of your choice
- White and green hydrangeas
- Fresh lilies
- Optional: a maidenhair pot plant
See the video for how I brought it all together.
Happy designing ????
