She sells seashells at the seashore — and I turn them into flowers.
I'm calling this one "at a pinch" because the requests haven't just been for beach house designs — sometimes it's simply about capturing a vibe, or keeping a beautiful memory of time spent by the sea long after those days have passed. And if you happen to have a collection of shells gathered on walks along the shore, here is exactly what to do with them.
This is the kind of designing I absolutely adore — where something small and collected becomes something you have and hold forever.
The base for this design is an old wicker bread basket. It always reminds me of the sea — or perhaps picnic baskets. Either way, it's perfect.
Things to gather:
An old wicker bread basket or similar base container
A few hydrangea heads
A few succulents
Shells to create the flowers
Pearls for the centre of each shell flower
Floral wire or satay sticks to form stems
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
