A big thank you to Tiffany, who gave me one of the most beautiful and specific briefs I've had in a long time.

Tiffany is getting married in early autumn in a barn in New England and asked for an elongated table display built around paper daisies and berries. Her brief was as clear as it was wonderful — white daisies, berries, gum nuts, eucalyptus, and all the natural foliage growing around the property (magnolia and more). Rustic, with an emphasis on early frost. No colour. No dahlias. No market flowers. Just a gathering of all things natural.

Challenge accepted.

The base for this design is the elongated pool noodle form I shared several months ago — tied onto a vintage silver candelabra. I mentioned at the time that once the base foliage was in, the sky was the limit, and this is exactly the kind of design I had in mind. If you'd prefer to skip the candelabra, simply remove it and work with the base alone.

A note on materials: I'm working mostly with artificial elements as I'm in the wrong season. If you're working with fresh, I'd suggest forming chicken wire into a long sausage shape stuffed with floral foam or wet sphagnum moss as your base instead.

Things to gather:

Pool noodle base (and optional vintage candelabra — see the original tutorial)
Gum nuts and gum foliage
White paper daisies
Berries and bramble
Eucalyptus
Natural foliage from around the property — magnolia, or whatever suits your setting
Pears or seasonal fruit on branches (optional, to suit your theme)

See the video for how I brought Tiffany's vision to life.

Happy designing!
