Over time, I’ve received many requests asking how to display botanicals gathered from the garden—the quiet, often-overlooked treasures discovered while simply walking and observing.

Here, on the cusp of spring, there are still berries to be found, along with the final offerings of last season’s growth. We often pause to admire these details, but rarely think to pick them and enjoy their beauty indoors. This arrangement is an invitation to do just that.

I’ll share how to create a design that is led by berries, supported by the occasional found treasure, resulting in a display that feels natural, restrained, and deeply seasonal.

Things to Gather:
- A vase of your choice
- A vintage white 1950s/60s boat-shaped vase works particularly well
- Not too tall or too long, but deep enough to hold forms securely
- Found botanicals from the garden
- I used bromeliads, ibex berries, clivia berries, and a few cordyline leaves

A Tip from Me:
The bromeliad will take root, and the berries will last for weeks—making this a perfect style of designing for busy lives, when you still want a moment of simple floral joy.
