An SOS has been received from Christine who resides in the UK. Christine’s Grandma is in aged care and all her Nan asks for is a bowl of spring flowers. Christine managed to locate a crystal rose bowl similar to that which used to reside in the front room of her former home and has asked if I could share a permanent design.
I totally agree with what Christine has to say about trying to keep freshly picked spring flowers looking fabulous for more than a few days, especially in a warm environment. Flowers do not like it too hot and let’s not forget, spring flowers come for a short time and then they are gone. So, Christine it’s a very wise decision to go for the artificial. To take your faux flowers to another level, you might like this little fragrance I’ve put together. It’s lemony and crisp with a lower note of tuberose. Very spring like…!
Things to gather –
- Glass rose bowl with inner stem holder
- Gatherings of blossom, daffodils, hyacinths, forsythia & camellias or just
- a few of whatever blooms your grandma loves.
For the essential oil spring fragrance, you will need:
- 30 mls rose water or distilled water followed by
- 3 drops of bergamot – which has a lovely citrus smell
- 2 drops of grapefruit
- 2 drops of ylang ylang
Shake well before misting blooms.
