How to hand stitch the opening of a cushion when you don’t have a zipper. If you are watching this then you probably need a helping hand, so here I am to assist! You will need:
- Your cushion
- Cushion inner
- Iron and ironing board
- Pins, sharp needle and matching thread
- Sharp scissors
Once cushion is made and with wrong side facing out, make a turnover hem at opening, of ½ an inch. Use the iron to make firm and stay in place.
Turn cushion so that the right sides are facing out. You might need to re-iron to ensure turnover hem is firmly in place.
Place cushion inner inside cushion.
Now, using the pins, pin both sides together all along opening to make it close up.
