I've had several requests lately for more inspiration around decorating a beach house or a country-styled barn — and while flicking back through my old sketchbook, I rediscovered exactly the right design.
I made this wall piece years ago for a friend whose wall needed something. Rather than buying anything new, we put it together using things she already had lying around the house — and the result has stayed one of my favourite simple, effective designs.
It's the kind of project that costs almost nothing, takes an afternoon, and brings real warmth and texture into a beach house, bach, or country-style space.
You'll need:
- A round table mat to suit your décor
- A hot glue gun
- Wire
- Wooden beads
- Dried flowers and botanicals of your choice — I used gum nuts, berries, eucalyptus, and dried daisies. Even better, take a walk through the sand dunes and gather your own.
